MILAN, Italy – Sonnedix, the global independent solar power producer (IPP) has reached 244 MW of operating capacity in Italy, with its latest acquisition of an operating solar PV portfolio from Genergy SpA.
The 1.3 MW portfolio is under the Italian Conto Energia II – Salva Alcoa (feed-in tariff) scheme and has been in operations since 2011.
“Despite the challenges that 2020 has brought, we continue expanding our footprint in Italy, where we’ve been operating since 2009” - said Axel Thiemann, CEO of Sonnedix – “Our team has been able to add 4 new portfolios with a total of 15 solar PV plants in the country, allowing us to grow sustainably and deliver on our long-term commitment to the Italian market.”.
The acquisition demonstrates the variety of Sonnedix’s portfolio positioning the company as a leading player in the country’s solar PV generation sector. Sonnedix continues actively seeking opportunities to expand its presence globally through acquisitions and development of solar photovoltaic projects.
