MADRID, Spain – Sonnedix, the international Renewable Energy Producer, has completed the construction of four solar PV plants, totalling 57MW, located in Valladolid, Castilla y León province in Spain.
All four ground-mounted photovoltaic plants have been built by EPC Ríos Renovables, who will also oversee the operations and maintenance work on behalf of Sonnedix throughout the entire life of the projects.
The plants form part of a larger portfolio acquired by Sonnedix in 2021 in well-advanced development stage. With a total capacity of 77MW, the portfolio includes a fifth solar PV plant, of 20MW, which is currently under construction and is expected to enter operations during the second quarter of 2023.
The full 77MW portfolio is expected to generate around 156GWh of clean electricity during its first year, capable of powering over 50,000 Spanish homes and removing over 30,000 metric tons of CO2 from the atmosphere. For this portfolio, Sonnedix has signed a twelve-year-long renewable energy power purchase agreement (PPA) with Endesa, Spain’s largest electric company.
