The French municipality of Portes de Romilly, home to our 7.5MW plant, was awarded the Champion title, the highest award, for municipalities between 5,000 and 20,000 inhabitants in the Solar PV Category of the ENR League renewable energies competition. 1,200 European cities competed, representing 14 million people. Different categories were open to competition, including biomass and solar power. Winners were awarded on the basis of a main indicator of the energy autonomy in the territory (percentage of energy consumption covered by local renewable energy), combined with a recognition of the energy package and the political commitment of the local administration.
