Sonnedix Italia announced today the completion and connection of its two Abruzzo based plants near the town of San Benedetto di Marsi, Italy totaling 5.2MW. On August 30, 2011, Sonnedix Italia completed and connected an additional 6MW in the Province of Viterbo, Lazio, Italy.
The 5.2MW Abruzzo based projects were built by REC Systems using REC modules under a turnkey contract. The 6MW Lazio based project was constructed by Assyce using Trina modules under a similar EPC contract. All 11.2MW were connected within the 31st of August deadline qualifying the plants for the Italian incentive feed in tariff program. Andreas Mustad, the Companys CEO, commented, ” We completed these projects on time thanks to the seamless coordination between our local team and the highly diligent EPCs. These additions bring the Sonnedix fleet to just under 30MW of operational assets “. Sonnedix also has an additional 20MW of new solar projects under construction at this time. In Italy the companys 17.5 MW of PV projects will in the aggregate displace in excess of 10,000 tons of CO2 per year, the equivalent of removing 2,500 automobiles from circulation.
