Axel Thiemann joined Sonnedix in 2011 in London, when the company had less than 5MW in operation. He is now based out of Miami and serves as Executive Vice President, Global Head of Commercial, where his focus is on acquiring solar PV projects on the secondary market and integrating them into the company’s portfolio. He also sits on the Board of Directors and plays a role in setting Sonnedix’s strategy for the future.
Prior to joining Sonnedix, Axel held various positions with Barclays Bank in London and McKinsey and Company. Since joining Sonnedix, he’s had the opportunity to work with various functions, including Asset Management, Finance, HR and E&C, and is most proud of his contributions to setting up the London office in its first iteration and establishing the company’s M&A function.
Axel graduated as an electrical engineer from Hannover University in Germany and holds an MBA from IESE Business School in Spain.
To Axel, the most special thing about Sonnedix is its team of bright and passionate people across four continents that have come together to create a sustainable future for the world.
