Sonnedix’s history in the USA dates back to 2011, where Sonnedix entered the Puerto Rican market. Since then, the solar IPP continued its efforts to grow their solar platform sustainably across the country.
In Puerto Rico, Sonnedix has built two large solar PV plants – Sonnedix Salinas (15.4MW) and Sonnedix Oriana (57.6MW), the latter still being the largest solar plant of its type in the Caribbean region. In late 2021, Sonnedix signed an agreement to transfer the ownership of its Puerto Rican portfolio, to focus on further growth in other areas of the United States.
Today, Sonnedix has a development pipeline of 306MW in the US, and is actively looking for opportunities to continue developing solar PV plants, as well as acquiring already operating assets in the country.
Its team in the US currently has over 20 members, based in the Sonnedix Miami office, including Sonnedix’s CEO and Executive Chairman.
