TOKYO, Japan – Sonnedix, the global solar independent power producer (IPP), has secured a portfolio of two high-voltage power plants, totalling 2.8MWp, from The Iyo Bank, Ltd., for a total facility size of JPY 765M (EUR 5.6M).

The projects are located in Tottori and Shizuoka districts and were acquired in late 2021 from Trina Solar International System Business Unit (ISBU) in Japan – Trina Solar Japan Energy. One of the projects (Sonnedix Yonago) was at operational stage at the time of acquisition, whilst the other plant (Sonnedix Hamamatsu) has been under construction until reaching commercial operation on March 26, 2022.

“We are very proud of our sustainable growth in Japan, where we first set foot in 2013 through our trusted partner, Sonnedix Japan, and it is currently our third largest portfolio across the group”, said Axel Thiemann, CEO of Sonnedix. “We continue looking for opportunities to further grow this portfolio in the market, through the acquisition of development and operational solar PV projects.”

Sonnedix Japan, on behalf of the Sonnedix group of companies (the Sonnedix Group), currently manages a total capacity of almost 500MW, including development pipeline and projects under construction.
