The "Carrera de la Mujer" is a road running event celebrated annually across different locations in Spain, to promote women in sports.

Since its origins, it has grown to become one of the largest female sports events in all Europe, thanks to its approach towards increasing visibility, raising awareness and fighting for women's rights.

This year, due to the restrictions marked by the COVID-19 crisis, the organizers were forced to move the event to a virtual format, and they did so under the tagline "No podemos estar juntas pero sí unidas" (We can't be together but we can be united).

Several women from Sonnedix One Team in the Madrid office participated for the second consecutive year in the event.

Participants registered through an app and did their 5k run or walk wherever possible. The objectives for 2020 were to surpass 100,000€ in registrations, funds that are donated to the different organisations involved: Spanish Association Against Cancer (AECC), Association Clara Campoamor (against gender violence), Proyecto EFiK (working on breast cancer research), and more.

The event aims to promote women in sports, but it also addresses different topics affecting the life of women around the world; breast cancer awareness (hence the pink t-shirts), visibility of all inequality’s women suffers, or the fight against gender violence.

On this year's t-shirts, every participant had the same number, 016, which is untracked (does not appear on your telephone bill) open line to assist victims of gender violence.
